CIF State Championship They grow up so fast!!! Two of our very own made their way (along with their high school teams of course!) to the hardwood of the Arco Arena to compete for title of California State Champs. It was a battle of NorCal vs. SoCal in Div 1-5 competition. Ms. Portia Velasco (pictured in her Gades gear, bottom right) played on the older Renegades girls team, (and actually played on the boys team before we were able to put a girls team together) and is now a sophomore at Carondelet High School in Concord. Her team took the NorCal Regional Championship in Div 2 play. Congrats to you and your team Ms. Porchie! Mr. Davion Mize (#15 in his RenegadeHoops gear) plays with the Gades 14&Under/JV/Var team. He's a Freshman at Salesians High School in Richmond and plays with PRIDE!;) His team went all the way and is the 2009 Div 4 State Champs. Way to represent for NorCal and especially the Bay! Great job D.Mize!!! We're so proud to have had you both wear the green and show the younger kids that HARD WORK...DON'T QUIT... goes a long long way! |
